FAQs

I don’t have any prior writing experience—Can I still sign up for a class?

Yes! Classes are designed to support and welcome all levels of writers. The only requirement is a general love of words and a desire to meet others who also love words.

the class I want to sign up for is full. can I join a waitlist?

Absolutely. Please email Cathie at hello@postpartumwritingcollective.com with your name and the class you are interested in.

None of the class times work for me—are there other options?

We plan to add more class times soon! Feel free to sign up for our email list, which will ensure you hear when new classes are offered.

Do classes involve workshopping?

The classes currently offered through PWC focus on creative-generation (aka getting words written down!) and connection. Class time is not dedicated to active workshopping.

Students are encouraged to exchange work and contact info with one another, if collaboration is something they want to pursue into the future.

I’m Scared of Sharing My Writing With Others—Will We Be Required to Share Our Work in Class?

It’s incredibly common and valid to feel anxiety about sharing ones writing with others. While it will never be required, there will be opportunities to read small pieces we’ve worked on in each class.

During the last class session, all students are encouraged to select one of their favorite writings to read to the rest of us for our “Last Day Celebration,” but sharing will not be required.
